Investigation teams from Ban Du Police Station and the Chiang Rai Provincial Police Investigation Division reported that an investigation into the Elaboo drug gang has led to the arrested 3 suspects and the seizure of meth pills and heroin.

The investigation found that two gang members, Mr. Big and Ms. Muey (real names withheld), had avoided arrest from a previous drug raid on July 27 and were living in a rented house in a village in Tambon San Sai, Amphoe Mueang, Chiang Rai Province.

Therefore, they applied for an arrest warrant from the Chiang Rai Provincial Court before raiding their rented house on August 22, 2024.

When they raided the home, they detained three suspects: Mr. Big, Ms. Muey and Ms. Tai, an entertainer (Surnames Withheld). They seized 115 meth pills and 4 grams of heroin were seized.

Mr. Big admitted to the arresting officers that the methamphetamine and heroin were his, and he sold them to regular customers.

From the investigation, they told police that they received the drugs from an online contact and had been distributing them to customers for some time. The customers would allegedly order the drugs via Line App before delivering them to customers as agreed.

After questioning the suspects, they were taken to the Ban Du Police Station for legal proceedings. Initially, the police charged them with “jointly possessing Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine, heroin) for illegal trade.”
