BANGKOK – Police in Nonthaburi have found more body parts linked to the murder of a young Lao woman. Officers recovered six black bags dumped along the road by the water canal in Pak Kret. Two more bags named by the suspect still have not been found. According to police, the victim’s boyfriend said he left those bags near the apartment.
The case has shocked people because of the brutality and the suspect’s actions after the crime. Investigators said CCTV showed him walking back to his room with a black shoulder bag, acting as if nothing had happened.
At around 8:00 p.m. on March 24, 2026, investigators in Pak Kret were contacted by Thung Song Hong police after human remains were found stuffed inside several bags. The bags had been left by the roadside near the entrance to a lane beside Saint Francis Xavier School in Ban Mai, Nonthaburi.
Police, forensic staff, and rescue workers went to the scene to inspect the area. In one black trash bag, they found the head of a young woman wrapped in a towel. The remains had already begun to decompose, and there was a strong odor at the scene.
After that, officers spread out to search nearby. They later found five more black bags scattered along the roadside within about 300 meters. Inside were parts of the torso, the left arm, and legs, all cut into pieces.
Two bags had been thrown into the canal, while three had been hidden in grass. Police believe all the remains belong to the same victim. However, the search ended late that night without finding the hip area and the right arm.
The case began earlier on March 24, when a 26-year-old Lao man named Dech reported his 20-year-old sister, Ram, missing. She had disappeared from an apartment in Soi Chaeng Watthana 14, in Bangkok’s Lak Si district.
Her boyfriend, a 24-year-old Lao man named Tom, told the family they had argued and claimed she ran away from the room. Still, her brother could not contact her.
Because he was suspicious, Dech asked to check the apartment’s CCTV footage. He did not see his sister leave the building, which did not match Tom’s story. He then called police to inspect the room. Inside, officers found no one, but they noticed a strong smell of blood and bloodstains on the floor. At that point, they believed something serious had happened to the missing woman.
Investigators then called in forensic officers to collect evidence from the room. Police suspected Tom was involved and believed he had already fled. They also thought he might be heading back home to cross into Laos, so they alerted immigration checkpoints along possible escape routes.
Later that day, at around 5:00 p.m., investigators received word from immigration police in Nong Khai that Tom had been arrested. He was caught while trying to flee across the border into Laos.
During questioning, Tom reportedly admitted killing and dismembering his girlfriend. He told police he separated the body into eight black bags. According to his statement, he threw two bags into the canal, left two by the roadside, and hid two more in the grass near the same area in Pak Kret, close to the lane beside Saint Francis Xavier School.
He also claimed that the remaining two bags were left near the apartment, but police have not found them yet.
Investigators also said the timeline before the crime is becoming clearer. On March 21, Tom had picked up his girlfriend from Chonburi and brought her back to the apartment in Chaeng Watthana 14. Then, in the early hours of March 24, her brother came looking for her after losing contact with her.
Police reviewed CCTV from the apartment and found Tom leaving the room carrying a black shoulder bag and a black plastic bag. Later, he was seen walking back to the room with only the black shoulder bag, behaving normally. Soon after, police tracked him down and arrested him.
As for the motive, police said they are still taking the suspect back from Nong Khai for more detailed questioning. The full reason behind the killing has not yet been confirmed. The investigation is still ongoing, and police are expected to release more updates as the case develops.
