CHIANG RAI – Hangpui Art Space presents a new exhibition featuring the graphic novel “Penning Hope” by Sa-ard at their Chiang Rai venue. Sa-ard, also known as Tanis Werasakwong, has spent more than twenty years as an independent cartoonist and is known for his varied and engaging work.

His stories range from the personal themes in “The Man Who Travels to Find His Own Voice” and the playful “The Education of a Dreaming Can” to the gentle reflections in “May Love Be Your Lifelong Poetry.”

His latest graphic novel, “The Siamese Ghostwriter,” released at the end of 2023, carries on this tradition of strong storytelling.

This exhibition gives visitors a close look at how “The Siamese Ghostwriter” came to life. The novel draws on real history, and visitors can follow its path from early ideas to the finished piece.

The displays reveal the hurdles, discoveries, and steady effort behind the artwork. Guests can view in-depth research notes, character sketches inspired by real people, planning materials, and the author’s personal journals that show his thoughts and feelings throughout the project.

The collection includes original illustrations, manuscripts, special artwork created for Chiang Rai, and limited-edition books, all set aside for this show.
