Shopify’s COO Expects a Surprise In Our Cryptocurrency Execution.

(CTN News) – The senior executive at Shopify has stated that people will be amazed by the rapid progress being made with crypto implementations at the e-commerce platform.

Kaz Najatian, Vice President of Product and Chief Operating Officer (COO), took to social media platform X on Sunday to express his excitement about the company’s crypto-related work, describing it as “some of our best work right now.”

Najatian further emphasized that the current efforts being made will result in significant advancements in the coming years, surprising many. Although specific details about crypto implementation were not disclosed, the statement indicates a strategic commitment to utilizing crypto and blockchain technology within the platform’s ecosystem.

This proactive approach by the e-commerce giant aligns with the increasing convergence of traditional commerce and the rapidly evolving crypto landscape.

Shopify has been actively developing crypto payment solutions for quite some time now. For example, in August of this year, Solana (SOL) announced that Solana Pay had been approved as an app integration on Shopify.

Last year in May, Crypto.com, a crypto exchange and payments provider, launched its Crypto.com Pay service for all merchants. This service allows them to accept purchases made with cryptocurrency.

Based in Ottawa, Canada, Shopify is a leading provider of e-commerce platforms for online stores worldwide. They also offer point-of-sale solutions for physical retail locations.

By the end of last year, Shopify reported that over 2 million businesses in 175 countries were using their platform.
