PHRAE – A mother has gone back to the police station to push for quicker progress in a case involving her 17-year-old daughter, a student at a well-known local school, who she claims is already married, deceived her daughter, and sexually abused her. The girl has reportedly been away from home for more than two months, and the family still doesn’t know where she is.

On Wednesday, the mother met with Pol. Capt. Nattapong Saengmanee, a deputy investigator at Song Police Station in Phra, asked officers to speed up the investigation after her family filed a complaint on December 8, 2025. In that report, she alleged the official lured her daughter to a rental room and sexually assaulted her.

The mother said her daughter has already given statements through a multidisciplinary team process and to investigators at Song Police Station. She also claimed the accused official continued contacting her daughter afterward, telling the teenager they would live together as husband and wife.

The mother says her daughter believed him and later ran away from home, not returning since. A second complaint was filed on December 12, 2025, with Pol. Capt. Nattapong receiving the report.

The mother said she tried to follow up through provincial administrative channels as well. That led Phrae Governor Somchai Lertprasitthiphan to order a fact-finding inquiry and transfer the accused official to work at the Phrae Provincial Office while the review continues.

According to the mother, the accused has a wife who works at a hospital in a nearby province. She alleges he targeted a schoolgirl for sex and then refused to take responsibility.

Investigators at Song Police Station told the mother they would move forward by summoning the accused to face legal action under an alleged offense related to taking a minor away from her parents or guardians.

Even so, the mother said the official has continued working after the transfer. She claimed he has still appeared in public duties, including serving as a trainer for the election unit committee members in Sung Men District. She said there has been no suspension or disciplinary order yet.

Acting Lt.Phakin Chomphupan, a lawyer, said the accused is a government officer under the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior. He said the role involves caring for public welfare, so the alleged conduct is especially inappropriate.

He added that if the student is under 18 and still under parental care and in school, the case can fall under an offense involving a minor being taken from guardians. He also said the family plans to pursue the case to the end.  In his view, the agency set up a fact-finding committee but has not taken clear action, while the accused continues working at the provincial office.
