CHIANG RAI – The third matchday of the Thai League 2025/26 season features one of the most talked-about fixtures this weekend. Singha Chiangrai United will host Buriram United on Sunday, August 31, with a kick-off set for 6 pm.

An update from Singha Chiangrai United’s official page confirms that all tickets for this clash with Buriram United have sold out. Every one of the stadium’s 9,147 seats is taken, promising a full house for this big night.

Adding to the occasion, club president “Big Han” Mitti Tiyapairat personally placed season ticket stickers himself. He wanted to thank supporters for their loyalty and constant support, showing the fans how much they matter to the club.

All eyes will be on this match to see if Chiang Rai’s home crowd can help their team hold off the defending champions, Buriram United. Fans can catch the game live on AIS Play this Sunday.

The last time Chiang Rai beat Buriram United at home in the Thai League was on 31 January 2019. Chiang Rai won that memorable match 4-0 and went on to secure their first-ever league title that season.

About Chiangrai United

Chiangrai United Football Club, based in Chiang Rai, Thailand’s northernmost province, was founded in 2009 and has since risen to prominence in Thai football.

Nicknamed “The Beetles,” the club began in the 2009 Regional League Division 2 Northern Region, clinching the championship in its debut season and earning promotion to the Thai Division 1 League after finishing as runners-up in the end-of-season mini-league.

By 2010, The Beatles reached the Thai League 1, the country’s top tier, where it has competed consistently.

The club achieved its first major success under Brazilian coach Alexandre Gama, winning the 2017 Thai FA Cup, followed by two more FA Cup titles and a Thai League Cup. In 2019, led by coach Ailton dos Santos Silva, Chiangrai United secured its first Thai League 1 title, edging out Buriram United on head-to-head results.

Known for its disciplined tactics and lethal counter-attacks, the club also made strides in the AFC Champions League, competing against top Asian teams. With a strong youth academy and a passionate fan base at the 11,354-capacity Singha Chiangrai Stadium, Chiangrai United continues to elevate Thai football while fostering local talent and community engagement.
