LAMPANG – A middle school sent staff to check on a 7th-grade student after a disturbing incident left the child too embarrassed to go to school. The student’s parent said three 8th-graders restrained the boy, forced him to pull down his pants, recorded a clip, and shared it in a school LINE group. The video led to teasing from classmates and others who saw it.

On Friday, the school director, the student’s homeroom teacher, and officers from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and the Lampang Child and Family Home visited the student, known as “Book,” at his home.

A village headman and a local welfare officer from the Ban Sadet Subdistrict Administrative Organization also joined. Police from Sadet Police Station attended as observers. Staff spoke privately with the student for about 40 minutes before bringing him back to his family.

Officials said the student’s emotional state had improved and was close to normal. He still felt embarrassed after learning the clip had been shared, but he said he was ready to return to school.

Students Parents Contacted

During the visit, the student shared another detail. He said the first incident happened on Monday. Three days later, on Thursday, while he was in the classroom playing games, a different classmate pulled at his pants as another student recorded a video that showed his buttocks.

The student said the new clip was then shown to the same older group involved in the first video. He wasn’t sure if it had been posted elsewhere.

The school director said he saw the original clip on the evening of January 23, after a teacher forwarded it following news coverage. He said the school reported the issue to supervisors right away and contacted the families.

He added that a child-focused foundation also reached out, which led the school to coordinate with all relevant agencies for the January 24 visit. After speaking with the three older students accused in the first incident, the school said they claimed it was meant as a joke.

Teachers Promise to Stop Bullying

But because it was shared online, the school planned a meeting with both sides and their parents at the school on Monday, January 26, to talk through what happened and try to reach an agreement.

The director said the school hoped to resolve it without escalating into a legal case, since the students attend the same school and live in the same community. The school also said it will address the newer report about the in-class recording.

Teachers plan to speak with students to stop any behavior like this from happening again.

The director and homeroom teacher told the student’s family that the school will tighten supervision and take steps to prevent any repeat incidents, including concerns about possible retaliation.
