LAMPHUN – Relatives and friends are looking for answers after a 24-year-old woman suffered a serious motorcycle crash on her way home from a nightlife venue. She reportedly lay injured off the roadside overnight without anyone noticing.
When a passerby finally found her the next afternoon, she was barely clothed, wearing only underwear. Her motorcycle also showed damage at the rear, which raised more concerns.
The woman, identified as Kanyanee (also known as Fern), lives in Tha Sop Sao Subdistrict, Mae Tha District, Lamphun. On the night of March 6 to March 7, 2569 (2026), she visited an entertainment venue near the industrial estate area in Ban Klang Subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun District.
Around 2 to 3 a.m., she left and rode a black Honda Scoopy motorcycle toward her home in Mae Tha District, about 25 kilometers away.
The crash happened on the Chiang Mai to Lampang Superhighway (Highway 11), on the stretch between Ban Khua Khrae and Ban Chambon in Si Bua Ban Subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun District, near ThaiNamthip Co., Ltd.
Early information suggested she may have lost control and crashed on her own. Still, no witnesses came forward at the time.
On the afternoon of March 7, 2569 (2026), a 59-year-old local man, Weeraphat Lertkiatbandit from Sing Khoeng Village, Ban Klang Subdistrict, was riding his motorcycle to his orchard. Because he was traveling slowly and watching the roadside, he noticed a motorcycle overturned in the brush.
He stopped to check and saw the woman lying face down nearby. He said the person had no clothing on the upper body and was wearing only brown underwear. At first, he thought it was a man because the person was lying face down.
He tried calling 191, but no one answered. So he contacted security staff at the nearby ThaiNamthip facility, and they helped report the incident to authorities.
Rescue staff from Prince Lamphun Hospital responded and brought her to the hospital. Later, staff transferred her to Hariphunchai Hospital because her social security coverage is registered there. At the time of reporting, she still couldn’t give a statement.
Fern’s relatives and friends say the situation doesn’t fully add up. They questioned why she was found wearing only underwear if it was a simple single-vehicle crash. They also pointed to damage at the back of the motorcycle that looked like it may have been hit from behind.
Pol. Col. Thitiphol Arunsakul, superintendent of the Northern Industrial Estate Police Station in Lamphun, said investigators are treating the case carefully because the family has raised valid concerns. For now, police have not confirmed whether it was strictly an accident or if something else may be involved.
Police have ordered investigators to review CCTV footage, starting from the time she arrived at the entertainment venue through her ride home. Officers are working to track her route and check for anything unusual. Since the injured woman still can’t provide information, police say video evidence will be key to clearing up what happened.
