- Three Suspects Arrested: Law enforcement arrested three individuals during the targeted raids in Chiang Mai.
According to official reports from MGR Online, the operation began when officers tracked a suspicious vehicle. The truck was moving through the Mae Taeng district of Chiang Mai.
Police stopped the vehicle outside the Mae Jo Police Station in the San Sai district. During the search, officers discovered a specially modified secret compartment hidden inside the truck.
The smugglers had packed the compartment with 250 kilograms of crystal meth. They covered the drugs with piles of secondhand clothes to evade police detection. The driver was arrested immediately at the scene. He later confessed to smuggling illicit substances into central Thailand multiple times in the past.

Secret Underground Stash Found In Orchard
Following the driver’s confession, investigators expanded their search to a second location. They discovered a hidden drug storage site inside a local fruit orchard.
The orchard was located in the Khie Lek sub-district of Mae Taeng. Officers searched the property and found millions of methamphetamine pills buried deep underground.
Two more suspects were arrested at the orchard for managing the storage site. The suspects had buried 7,330,000 meth pills to keep them hidden from passing police patrols.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that this bust successfully cut off a major supply route. The operation prevented a massive amount of narcotics from reaching communities across the country.
Police Lieutenant General Archayan Kraithong led the official press conference regarding the case. He was joined by Lieutenant General Chaidan Kritsanasuwan, the Commander of the 3rd Army Area Task Force.
The commanders emphasized that these drugs would have caused severe damage to families. They thanked the local task forces for their quick and brave actions during the raids.
Moving forward, the Narcotics Suppression Bureau plans to track down the network leaders. Authorities state they will seize all assets linked to this illegal drug trade.
