LAMPANG — A night out turned into a sting operation this week after patrons at a popular Lampang entertainment venue discovered a man allegedly filming them in the restroom. The suspect, who claimed to be a local teacher, was apprehended after the victims noticed a smartphone peering over the stall partitions.
The incident, which took place during the early hours of April 13, 2026, has sparked a wider investigation. Police discovered dozens of similar recordings on the suspect’s device, suggesting a long-running pattern of behavior.
The alarm was first raised by a 26-year-old man, identified only as “Ball,” who works in nearby Lamphun. Ball had been celebrating the Songkran holiday with friends at a well-known pub near the Asawin Market area.
While using a private stall in the men’s restroom, Ball looked up and was shocked to see a mobile phone and the top of a man’s head appearing over the wall from the adjacent stall.
“I quickly finished and ran out to check the next stall, but it was empty,” Ball told local reporters. “When I told my friends, they didn’t believe me at first.”

The “Sting” Operation
The situation escalated shortly after when one of Ball’s friends went to the restroom to use the urinals. He reported seeing a man with curly hair peeking over the partition again. Realizing they weren’t imagining things, the group decided to set a trap.
- The Plan: One friend entered the stall to act as “bait.”
- The Stakeout: Ball and another friend waited just outside the restroom area.
- The Catch: As soon as the suspect attempted to film again, the group moved in and confronted him.
The suspect was caught “red-handed” inside the restroom. When confronted, the man reportedly claimed he was a teacher and pleaded with the victims, stating he was “just filming for fun.” However, the victims refused to let the matter go and insisted on seeing his phone gallery.
Upon checking the suspect’s phone, the group was horrified to find not just one video, but a collection of secret recordings. Reports indicate there were clips of approximately 20 to 30 different victims filmed in similar circumstances.
The victims immediately contacted the Lampang City Police. Since the story broke on social media, more victims have come forward to provide statements.
Public Safety Warning
Ball took to Facebook to share his experience and urge others who visited the pub between midnight and 2:00 AM on April 13 to check if they might be among the victims.
“Currently, only four people have filed formal complaints,” Ball stated in his post. “But the evidence shows dozens of people were targeted. We want everyone affected to come forward so the police can build a strong case and prevent this from happening to anyone else.”
Lampang City Police are currently processing the evidence and have encouraged anyone with information or who suspects they were filmed to contact the station directly. The suspect remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
