Cryptocurrency – Bitcoin pops back above $100,000

Bitcoin (BTC) pushed back over $100,000 today and traded near $101,564, up 1.86% on the day. The move comes after a bruising stretch of swings and a brief slide to $99,966 on Tuesday, the first sub-$100K print since late June.

Large buyers added more than 10,000 BTC during the dip, and exchange balances fell by roughly 170,000 BTC over the past month. The pullback in supply points to firm hands taking coins off exchanges. Some market watchers say stronger institutional flows, paired with expectations for a Fed rate cut in December, could set a path toward $120,000 by year-end.

The total crypto market cap sits near $3.39 trillion, down 1.73% over 24 hours. Even with mixed breadth, signs of strength are forming in pockets across majors and select altcoins.

Seasonality, targets, and dominance

November tends to favor BTC. Since 2013, the month has averaged gains of 42.5%, with standouts like 2013 at 453.9% and 2020 at 42.9%. Analysts at CoinDCX flag a possible breakout above $113,000 this month.

If momentum holds, they eye a range of $116,000 to $118,000, helped by ETF demand and corporate treasuries such as SEGG Media’s $300 million allocation. Galaxy Research takes a cooler view and trims its 2025 target to $120,000, citing pressure from AI stock correlations and global liquidity. Bitcoin dominance sits at 59.8% today, down 0.04%, and a push above $108,000 could open the door for broader altcoin gains.

Ethereum finds its footing

Ethereum trades near $3,326, up 2.87%, and is drawing renewed interest after a long slump. The Fusaka hard fork, planned for early November, aims to boost scalability and staking rewards.

Some traders are even using Solana ETF inflows, about $14.83 million, as a proxy bet on ETH momentum. Justin Sun added to the drumbeat by staking $154.5 million in ETH on Lido, bringing his Ethereum exposure to about $534 million and topping his TRX stake.

Privacy coins have also come alive. Zcash (ZEC) surged past $500 after a 250% monthly run and is eyeing $600. At the same time, about 4.65 million previously dormant BTC entered circulation, which raises debate on distribution among long-term holders.

Altcoins and funding moves

Internet Computer (ICP) jumped 34% to $7.02 on heavy volume, outpacing the CoinDesk 20 Index. BNB climbed 6.42% to $2.21 as Binance rolled out Pay and Card services in Brazil with Mastercard support. XRP, now around $157 and up 3.05%, is riding a $500 million funding round for Ripple at a $40 billion valuation, with backing from Fortress and Citadel.

The rise lands as RLUSD reaches a $1 billion market cap and Ripple teams up with Mastercard and Gemini on XRP Ledger credit card settlement. Bitwise and Canary Capital filed “no-delay” amendments with the SEC, which could open the door for spot XRP ETFs by mid-November. Franklin Templeton is preparing a potential launch later in the month. A ruling from India’s Madras High Court that defines XRP as legal property adds support and could shift adoption trends across Asia.

Meme coins and new names

Dogecoin rose 1.69% to $0.16 amid chatter about a possible spot ETF approval in the next 20 days. Fresh tokens like Ozak AI (OZ) and LivLive are drawing attention with AI and DeFi angles. Many meme tokens without utility, such as Maxi Doge and Little Pepe, continue to fade. Solana held near $953 with a 0.19% daily gain, while SOL ETFs notched six straight sessions of inflows, a sign of staying power among major Layer 1s.

Policy and enforcement

Rules and actions cut both ways. The Central Bank of Ireland fined Coinbase €21.5 million ($24.6 million) for AML issues tied to 2021 to 2025, a sign of tighter oversight in Europe. A Samourai Wallet developer received a five-year prison term for unlicensed money transmission, which sends a clear signal to mixer projects. On the positive side, Canada’s 2025 budget outlines stablecoin rules that mirror the U.S. approach.

The UK is targeting 2026 for a similar framework, and Hong Kong is easing access for global exchanges. JPMorgan’s Jamie Dimon floated the idea of a shared bank stablecoin, and Google added Polymarket and Kalshi odds into Search and Finance, lifting prediction markets into mainstream view.

Tech and product updates

Partnerships and builds are stacking up. Chainlink signed with SBI Digital Markets in Japan to deliver tools for institutions. Tether, KraneShares, and Bitfinex issued tokenized assets on Aave’s RWA platform. HashKey launched Crypto-as-a-Service to connect TradFi with Web3 stacks. Monad announced a high-performance Layer 1 mainnet for November 24 and a token generation event. Binance listed Aria Protocol (ARIAIP) today. Several UN agencies rolled out blockchain education tracks for government teams.

Risks, shocks, and market stress

Not all headlines are bright. USDX depegged to $0.37 amid a liquidity crunch, which erased about $66 billion from crypto markets overnight. Shares tied to the sector, such as Robinhood, slid on the news. A large trader opened roughly $140 million in shorts on BTC and XRP, adding pressure on the downside. In Texas, rural communities pushed back on Bitcoin mining over noise concerns. IREN is shifting from mining to AI services, a sign of stress after the halving.

Earnings, catalysts, and levels to watch

Earnings are on deck. Mara Holdings is expected at $0.02 EPS, Hut 8 at negative $0.12, and Robinhood at $0.54. Central bank meetings will frame liquidity into the year-end. If BTC holds above key support, a $4 trillion total crypto market cap is within reach. A clean break below $100,000 could invite a test near $90,000. Beyond Bitcoin, progress on XRP’s enterprise push and ETH’s fork hints at a broader market that is ready for prime time.

What is the plan for November? Staying alert to ETF headlines, policy shifts, and liquidity will matter most.
