CHIANG RAI – Bangkok Metropolitan Police detectives, working with officers from Phra Khanong Police Station, tracked down and arrested a man accused of breaking into a home at night in Bangkok, assaulting the victim, and stealing gold jewelry weighing about 198 baht.
The case dates back to the late night of February 12, when the suspect allegedly entered a residence in the Phra Khanong area, attacked the victim, and fled with a large amount of gold jewelry. Police say the suspect also used a weapon and a vehicle to help carry out the crime and escape.

After the incident, investigators learned the suspect had fled north to Mae Suai District in Chiang Rai. Officers followed the lead and found a man matching the description near a popular tourist area known for “wet raft” services under the Mae Suai Dam.
As police moved in, the suspect reportedly noticed them and tried to run. Officers detained him at the scene and identified him as a 29-year-old man named Jalo.
Police filed charges related to nighttime robbery involving forced entry, use of a weapon, and use of a vehicle to facilitate the offense or transport stolen property. They transferred the suspect to the investigators at Phra Khanong Police Station for legal proceedings.
Authorities are still working to recover the stolen gold jewelry, listed at about 198 baht in weight. In addition, they are checking financial trails and looking into whether anyone helped the suspect while he was on the run.
