Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police and Director of the Narcotics Suppression Center, and Pol. Lt. Gen. Samran Nuanma, Assistant Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police/Deputy Director of the Narcotics Suppression Center, and relevant agencies work jointly to track down drug dealers with a province-wide task force.

Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet told a press briefing that following a tip-off from an informant that there was a drug gang transporting a large number of drugs from Mae Fah Luang and Mae Chan districts, Chiang Rai Province, they launched a province-wide search.

He said the Royal Thai Police task force tracked down the 3 target vehicles until they found them parked on the side of the Bang Bua Thong-Bang Phun road, Tambon Ban Mai, Amphoe Mueang, Pathum Thani Province, with all the smugglers stopping off to eat grilled pork at a roadside shop.

Pathum Thani Province police inspected the three vehicles that appeared in a convoy. They believed the lead vehicle was used to survey the route, and the follower vehicles were a white Hino truck and two Toyota trucks being used as blockers.

The smugglers used the route from the border area of Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, Uttaradit, and Sukhothai to Pathum Thani Province.
