CHIANG RAI – A wave of excitement spread online after news broke that a Chiang Rai man nicknamed “Tui” won the first prize in Thailand’s government lottery. The win came from tickets purchased through Lottery Plus, with a total payout of 60,000,000 baht.

According to the details shared online, the winning number was 820866 from the draw dated March 1, 2569. Tui bought 10 tickets, each worth 6,000,000 baht, which added up to 60 million baht.

Not long after the results were announced, the Lottery Plus page posted that the full prize money would be delivered directly to Tui. The handover was also set to be livestreamed from his home in Chiang Rai, at 1 Sai Thong Village, Moo 7, Por Subdistrict, Wiang Kaen District.

When reporters visited, the atmosphere at the house was lively. Family members, friends, and neighbors gathered to celebrate and offer congratulations. At the same time, the Lottery Plus team arrived to present the cash prize to the new winner, turning the moment into a local celebration.

Tui, 42, asked to keep his last name private. He shared that he recently got married, with the wedding taking place on January 23. Because of that, he never expected life to change so quickly.

He explained that he had been following number patterns that ended in 66 for several draws. The reason was personal, since “66” matched the age of his father, who passed away about eight months earlier. However, after buying those numbers for two or three draws without winning, he stopped for a while.

Later, he decided to try again in the March 1 draw. This time, he bought a full set of 10 tickets through the online platform, and it turned out to be the decision that brought the big win.

After the results came out on March 1, Tui was driving to handle errands. He didn’t check the lottery results right away. Then a strange number called his phone.

At first, he almost ignored it because he worried it might be a scam. Still, he answered, and the caller said they were contacting him on behalf of “P’Not,” the owner of Lottery Plus. That was when he heard the news that he had won the first prize. The moment left him shocked, and then overjoyed.

Even with 60 million baht now in his life, Tui said he plans to stay the same person. He will continue working as an interpreter, and he wants to manage the money carefully.

He also shared that his relationship with his wife won’t change because of money. After the home celebration ends, he plans to make merit and dedicate it to his late father, whom he credits for inspiring the lucky number that brought him this win.
