CHIANG RAI – On Monday, officials, business leaders and residents in Chiang Rai welcomed Mr Rattaphon Naradisorn, the 56th Governor of Chiang Rai Province, and Mrs Wiyada Naradisorn, President of the Red Cross Chapter. The pair travelled from Phayao in the morning.

They began the day with ceremonies to pay respect at key city landmarks. These included the King Mengrai the Great Monument, the City Navel Pillar at Wat Phra That Doi Chom Thong, and the stupa of King Mengrai at Wat Doi Ngam Mueang.

They also paid homage at the statue of King Rama V at the first provincial hall, then offered respects to the guardian spirits and Buddha images at the governor’s residence. The rites marked an auspicious start to their duties.
