CHIANG RAI – The Protected Areas Regional Office 15 in Chiang Rai held an event to raise public awareness for World Ranger Day 2016, promoting officialsâ€™ role and their sacrifice in forest conservation and the protection of the Kingdomâ€™s natural resources.
Director of the Protected Areas Regional Office 15 in Chiang Rai Niphon Chamnongsirisak on Sunday presided over the opening ceremony of a World Ranger Day event at the Doi Luang National Park. The event was aimed at remembering the contribution made by forest rangers and giving them moral support.
During the event, forest rangers took an oath of allegiance, plated trees to build a check dam and attended a seminar on the work of forest rangers. There was also a ceremony to present certificates to outstanding forest rangers.
The department had provided financial assistance to 223 rangers at a total volume of 4.5 million baht with 68 cases of injuries, 46 of which are serious injuries, 3 cases of disabilities, and 106 cases of fatalities.
