CHIANG MAI – Local’s in Chiang Mai rushed to the rescue of a University student who drove his vehicle into a city moat after colliding with a songthaew.
Bystanders rushed to the aid of the driver, and assisted them in exiting the vehicle’s drivers side window before the vehicle sank.
Local media reported that the driver, who was a university student, was in shock after the car entered the water and was unable to open the door or window.
Officers have yet to secure many details about the driver and the incident, as the driver was in a stage of shock at the time of the accident. Officers recorded what they could, and will further investigate the accident, City News Reported.
