“We will continue to assess the evolving circumstances in Russia to determine when we may be able to fully resume our services, keeping safety as the highest priority.”

Vladimir Putin, the Russian President, signed into law a measure on Friday that introduces jail terms of up to 15 years for people who publish “fake news” about the Russian army, as Moscow advances with its invasion of Ukraine.

The law was met with a swift backlash from critics, but on the weekend, the Kremlin defended the new legislation, saying that the country was facing an “information war” that needed counteraction.
