BANGKOK – Thailand’s Tourist Police are constantly improving their service and offering convenience for tourists. Leading the new trend, provide modern innovative technology virtual application by launching Augmented Reality AR Code Application ‘Thailand Tourist Trips and Tips AR Book’. This creates an all-new tourism experience, to enhance the efficiency of the service and public relations of useful tourism information for tourists, to boost the confidence in safety for tourists to travel around Thailand and to create a good image of nation’s tourism to become the Tourism Capital of Asia.
Pol.Maj.Gen. Suprapone Arunsit, Commander of the Tourist Police Division says according to the Government’s policy to accelerate and increase tourism revenue income to 2.3 trillion Baht in 2016. The Tourist Police Division is continuing the policy in accordance with the aim to boost and enhance confidence in tourist safety by promoting cultural and historic attractions, magnificent traditions which form the identity of Thailand, and to build confidence for international tourists who travel within Thailand, to maximize comfort and safety.
The mission of Tourist Police Division is to ensure the safety of tourists, both their lives and their belongings, to provide and facilitate convenient service support for tourists to get the correct and useful information during their travels in Thailand, to help build confidence in the safety of tourists, and making tourists feel warm and safe to visit Thailand. This will create a good image for Thailand tourism and to increase the number of tourists steadily. Thus, it is necessary for Tourist Police to have the ability to use foreign languages to communicate well and to assist international tourists effectively, as well as preventing crimes affecting the tourism industry, to meet the government policy.
Therefore, in order to promote and build confidence for tourists to visit Thailand, Tourist Police has created an Augmented Reality (AR Code) Application ‘Thailand Tourist Trips and Tips AR Book’ which is the newest modern visualization technology with useful information that tourists need to know, to build satisfaction and confidence for the safety of tourists.
To create a good image for tourism in Thailand, including using newest modern technology to increase the channels of communication to help tourists feel confident to travel safely, to increase tourism numbers by allowing tourists to be able to access information about tourist attractions easily with this modern technology and also to help publicise leading tourist destinations.
‘Thailand Tourist Trips and Tips AR Book’ is the new technology Augmented Reality (AR Code) Application creating an all-new tourism experience for tourists to download on their smartphones. With this application, tourist can learn about basic Thai Culture Tips of Thailand’s Do’s and Don’ts while traveling in Thailand and find information and location links for fascinating tourist destinations 2015 to ‘Discover Thainess’ in 12 Cities Hidden Gems not to be missed. The application is a 3D cartoon model, viewing in 360° degrees and able to listen in 3 languages – Thai, English and Chinese. The cartoon model is created to appeal to children as well, while providing good knowledge of social sciences and culture.
