CHIANG RAI – The Pa Sak sub district Administrative Organization has unveiled a new tourist attraction, launching a campaign to promote the new tourist spot called Nong Bua Luang as a treat for nature lovers.

It includes a lake, and covers an area of 246 rai, already boasting beautiful scenery and now equipped with outlets and activities for visitors.

Nong Bua Luang was originally a community fishing and farming area. The lake was developed into a recreational spot in 2014 by local bodies to cope with the areas growing popularity among local people and tourists.

Profits from the management of Nong Bua Luang will be used for the development of public facilities around the attraction. The Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning is expected to approve a budget of 60 million baht next year for the improvement of transport and electricity systems for better access and facilities.

Different local bodies have increased the number of security staff to ensure the safety of visitors. Over 10,000 people are expected to visit the new recreational spot during the Songkran holiday.
