Thailand Weather Alert: Temperature Rise in North, Storm Warning in South

(CTN News) – Today, the northern region of Thailand is projected to experience a 3-degree Celsius temperature increase, prompting the Meteorological Department of Thailand (TMD) to issue a weather alert.

Rainfall could fall in certain places. Conversely, the southern region is getting ready for a storm that will bring heavy to extremely heavy rains. Additionally, waves exceeding 2 meters in height are anticipated in the ocean.

According to the weather predictions for the next 24 hours, a cold air mass or high-pressure area is presently enveloping the southern region of Thailand and the South China Sea, although it is gradually losing strength.

Morning fog and a temperature spike of 1-3 degrees Celsius in the country’s northern regions are the results. Nevertheless, the northern and northeastern parts of the country still experience chilly mornings.

Occasional rainfall is experienced in the lower northeastern, central, and eastern regions due to the moisture carried by the easterly winds.

Due to the unpredictable weather, northerners should take care of their health and exercise caution when traveling through foggy regions. During this time, KhaoSod warned farmers to take precautions to shield their crops from harm.

A relatively strong northeastern monsoon is hitting the southern region and the Gulf of Thailand, while a low-pressure area is hitting the eastern half of Malaysia. Due to this, the lower southern region has seen heavy to very heavy rain.

From 6am today to 6am tomorrow, the northern, northeastern, central, and eastern parts of Thailand should expect cold weather with morning fog. Light rain will occur in certain locations, and temperatures will rise by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius.

Northern regions will have lows of 16–22 degrees Celsius, while northeastern parts will get lows of 19–22 degrees Celsius. Both areas will experience highs of 30–33 degrees Celsius.

There will be thunderstorms in the south, and in some places, it will rain heavily. The temperature range will be between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius at its warmest and 23 to 25 degrees Celsius at its coolest.

The morning will bring fog to Bangkok and the surrounding areas, followed by a temperature increase of 1 to 3 degrees Celsius and, in some places, light rain. The temperature range will be 24–25 degrees Celsius at its coldest and 32–33 degrees Celsius at its warmest.
