U.S. Ambassador Glyn T. Davies Pays Final Call on Thailand’s Government House
BANGKOK – U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Glyn T. Davies on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House on the occasion of his completion of assignment in Thailand.
The PM thanked the ambassador for his excellent service for almost three years in Thailand and thanked the U.S. for participating in an operation to rescue 12 boys and their soccer coach from the Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai.
Gen.Prayut stated further that the Thailand 4.0 and Thailand+1 policies will benefit investment by the U.S. private sector.
Regarding the human trafficking issue, the ambassador said Thailand’s ranking had improved to Tier 2 due to the Thai government’s efforts to solve the problem.
The ambassador added that he was impressed by and admired the 200-years of Thai-U.S. relations. The ambassador also expressed his confidence in Thailand’s organization of a general election, saying he believed that Thai people’s unity and love for the nation and monarchy will lead the country to a bright future.
