Phrae Promotes “Blooming Golden Shower Tree Season”

 

PHRAE – The  province of Phrae is inviting the public to visit, taste and shop at an event called “Phrae OTOP Mobile to Songkran Festival – Blooming Golden Shower Tree Season”. The event is aimed at providing more channels for OTOP entrepreneurs to sell their products, while promoting tourism during the Songkran Festival.

According to Mrs. Sasitorn Inthakul, the community development officer, the Phrae Community Development Office is organizing “Phrae OTOP Mobile to Songkran Festival – Blooming Golden Shower Tree Season” fair during 6 – 10 April, 2014 in order to create a market for the sale of OTOP products. The fair opens up opportunities for local enterprises to distribute their OTOP products which are developed from local practice and wisdom, and acquire better management and marketing skills. Tourism to Phrae is also expected to be boosted during the Songkran festival.

OTOP products from more than 100 entrepreneurs from Phrae and other provinces will be showcased and sold. The “Pee-Mai-Muang Shop” sells items needed for Northern-style Songkran ceremonies such as soap pods, traditional perfume and equipment for the water rinsing ceremony. “Gad Mua of Phrae” is a famous food market in the province selling local dishes such as kae curry, hanglae curry and gan-jin rice.

“Phrae OTOP Mobile to Songkran Festival – Blooming Golden Shower Tree Season” is from now until April 10th, 2014 at Gad Sam Wai market in front of the Phrae City Hall.
