Thai Primary Students Win Gold at U.S. World Hip Hop Dance Championship 2018

BANGKOK – A group of Thai junior Hip Hop dancers, who won Gold at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship 2018 in the United States, arrived in Thailand to a warm welcome at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Known by the name of Awesome Junior, the Thai team returned to Thailand on Wednesday after winning World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Arizona, USA. The team consists of five primary school students aged between 8 and 10 years old from Tosapond Wittaya School.

Assanee Kluenklad, one of their coaches, said their performance exceeded his expectations while expressing his gratitude toward those who helped make this trip possible. The boys will receive scholarships worth 50,000 baht for their victory.

One of the Awesome Junior members, Patcharapong Tawinboon, said he could not contain his excitement after learning that his team had won the contest, adding that everyone in the team worked very hard and that he wanted to become a professional dancer.

Tosapond Wittaya School Director, Songkran Panpinij, said the team also won second place at the “To Be Number One” dance competition.

A total of 50 nations competed in World Hip Hop Dance Championship 2018.
