BANGKOK – A taxi driver who has been providing free service to disabled people by taking them to hospitals was recently given a new taxi to replace his ageing car by a heir of Bhirompakdi family, Mr “Todd” Piti Bhirombhakdi.

The philanthropic cabbie, Mr Suwannachat Phromchart, on Monday posted a message in his Facebook page offering his heart-felt thanks to Mr Piti for the latter’s kindness in donating him a car which, he said, is being modified as a taxi which will be used to transport disabled people to hospitals.

Earlier, the cabbie said through his Facebook page that a kind-hearted man had donated him an electric chair to be installed in his taxi which will facilitate the moving of disabled passengers in and out of his vehicle.

Mr Suwannachat’s good deeds in helping the disabled has earned him widespread appreciation from netizens in the social media. – Thai PBS
