3,200 Security Personnel Deployed to Guard Gen.Prayut’s Cabinet Meeting in Chiang Mai

2,000 soldiers and 1,200 police officers have deployed at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Center

CHIANG MAI – Prime Minister Gen.Prayut Chan-Ocha is in Chiang Mai to chair the mobile cabinet meeting in Chiang Mai on Tuesday.

The premier arrived in the northern province at 4.20 pm on Monday before proceeding to visit Doi Suthep temple and City Hall market.

On Tuesday, he is set to preside over the cabinet meeting at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Later in the day, he will travel to Phitsanulok to receive updates on the water management and rice projects.

Police Provincial Region 5 has reported no political movements ahead of the mobile Cabinet meeting in Chiang Mai province.

According to Deputy Police Chief of Provincial Region 5 Police Major General Pongsak Chuasomboon, around 2,000 soldiers and 1,200 police officers have deployed at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Center to secure the Cabinet meeting.

Security reinforcements are now in place, despite no report of political protestors taking to the street so far.
