Warning of Flash Floods and Landslides for 18 Districts of Chiang Rai

CHIANG RAI – The Provincial Administration in Chiang Rai has warned people living in highland and long river banks in Mae Chan, Mae Fah Luang, Mae Sruey, Wiang Pa Pao and Thoeng districts to be on the alert for possible flash floods and landslides in anticipation of heavy rains.

They were told to move their valuables to high ground as a precaution against damages from possible flash floods and landslides.

Flood situation in nine districts hit by heavy rains for the past four days has subsided although some 3,000 houses were submerged.  A big cleanup is being undertaken by residents to remove mud and other debris from their houses.
