Three Smugglers Arrested, Crystal Meth and Heroin Seized by Police in Chiang Rai

CHIANG RAI – Police in Mae Yen District of Chiang Rai have arrested two men and seized 6 kg of Crystal methamphetamine and 8 Kilograms of heroin, Pol. Col. Thawee Chayboon reported.

Pol. Col. Thawee Chayboon told Thai media that the two men were traveling on an inter-provincial bus from Mae Sai bound for Khon Kaen and were asked to have there bags checked at the Mae Yen District police check.

Upon the searching their bags police discovered the smuggled drugs bound for Northeastern Thailand.

Meanwhile, Local News2010 reported that Police officers from the Center for the Prevention of Narcotic Drugs in Mae Chan District of Chiang Rai, arrested a 26 year-old man after he was searched by police at a checkpoint and 70,000 meth pills were discovered in a box attached to his Honda motorcycle.

He was detained for further interrogations by Narcotics suppression officers.
