SHOTS Fired at a Car Carrying Melbourne School Teachers

Picturesque Chiang Mai turned into a nightmare for two Melbourne teachers

 

The teachers have been monitoring Ringwood Secondary College eight students on a trip to the northern city of Chiang Mai.

The car they were traveling was blasted through the front windshield on Sunday.

One teacher was treated at the hospital for a laceration under glass on his head. His colleague was uninjured.

Assistant Principal has traveled to Thailand to support teachers.

The Melbourne couple with a professor at a sister school in Chiang Mai, where the shooting took place. It is unclear why the vehicle was attacked.

Agents of the Royal Thai Police are investigating the incident.

The students were safe at home Ringwood hosting at the time of the attack, an Education Department spokesman said.

Must return to Melbourne tomorrow, as planned.

“The school is offering support and advice to teachers and students in the tour group,” she said.

“A psychologist’s Department has already spoken with teachers and ongoing support.”

Foreign Ministry officials have been in contact with teachers.

Consular officials have been in contact with their families in Australia.

Ringwood Secondary College has a long association with the Montfort College in Chiang Mai.

The city is considered as one of the nation’s cultural significance.

It has a massive tourism industry that attracts millions of visitors each year.
