Rolls Royce Bangkok Donates Funds to Build School in the Mountains of Chiang Rai

 

CHIANG RAI – Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Bangkok made a donation of 500,000 baht to the Chao Phya Abhai Raja Siammanukulkij foundation.

The donation was handed over to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Bangkok made a donation of 500,000 baht to the Chao Phya Abhai Raja Siammanukulkij foundation.

The donation was handed over to Count Gerald van der Straten Ponthoz, chairman of the foundation and Damrongphand Snitwong Na Ayuthaya, board member of the foundation, by Rolls-Royce Sales Director Yothin Kulkaew.

The donation will be used by the foundation to help a project of the Thai Border Police to build a school in a remote mountain area of the Chiangrai province.

The school will be built in the village of Fah Thai Ngan, but will cater to the needs of a total of 4 villages and over 200 children.

Superintendent Noppakhun Bumrungphong represented the Thai Border Police on this occasion.

The Chao Phya Abhai Raja Siammanukulkij foundation is a foundation named after an ancestor of Count Gerald’s grandmother’s family who was general advisor of King Rama V between 1892 and 1901.

The foundation is active in various, and very diverse, projects which aim at providing opportunities for disadvantaged youngsters to reach a brighter future.

Projects range from music and arts to university scholarships, but also sports.
The latest and most ambitious project to date has been the construction of a whole football stadium for a hill tribe team, the Chiangrai Hills Stadium.
