The award-winning Shanxi Province Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1952 with support from the Chinese government. It is the first time that the group has performed in Thailand.

Mae Fah Luang University was the first university in Thailand to receive support from the Chinese government, which funded the Princess Sirindhorn Chinese Language and Culture Center and the Confucius Institute.
