Four Drug Runners Dead after Firefight With Army Rangers at the Thai-Myanmar Border in Chiang Rai
CHIANG RAI – The police and army rangers seized a large quantity of meth in two separate operations in in Mae Chan and Mae Fah Luang districts of Chiang Rai Province.
The police found 800,000 methamphetamine pills in a pick-up truck while they set up a checkpoint on a secondary road in Mae Chan district, leading to the provincial seat.
The driver managed to escape the arrest in the dark of night.
In Mae Fah Luang district, army rangers clashed with drug couriers at the Thai- Myanmar border. Four drug suspects were killed during the clash.
Officials seized four pack sacks, containing meth pills. They are gathering evidence at the scene.
