CHIANG RAI – The Provincial Commerce Office has held a forum inviting representatives from different sectors to jointly create a trademark for products emanating from Chiang Rai province.
The creation of a trademark is part of the Chiang Rai Brand project which is aimed at upgrading locally-made products and enhancing the province’s competitiveness within and outside the country. The trademark will be awarded to One Tambon One Product (OTOP) operators and small and medium enterprises (SME) whose goods prove safe, high-quality and affordable.
Chief of the Chiang Rai Provincial Commerce Office, Santi Wisutsiri said Chiang Rai boasts a wide variety of products, some of which can only be found in Chiang Rai and have the potential to become desirable items for purchase among foreign customers. Mr. Santi added the project will make top products of the northernmost province better known at both national and international levels.
A series of activities will be held to debut the project and promote products with Chiang Rai Brand labels in the East, Northeast and in the South.
