Chiang Rai’s Museflower Retreat & Spa Donates Clothing and Toys to Remote Hill-Tribe Village

CHIANG RAI – The management team from Chiang Rai’s Museflower Retreat & Spa conducted their Annual Giving event to provide support to remote hill tribe villages and school children, recently visited the village of Baan Huai Lu Luang to donate goods and clothing. 

Baan Huai Lu Luang is a Lahu hill tribe village located at Moo 13, T. Mae Yao, A. Muang, Chiang Rai.  The village has 512 people from 104 families, with a nursery school consisting of 33 children aged from one to four years old.  

With the help of Ms. Arpakorn Boonpandi, who is a school teacher and a friend of Museflower’s staff, this village was chosen due to its remote location very far from the city center and because many people in this village needed clothing.  Many of the children here had never had a chance to play with any dolls or toys. 

 

The Museflower team donated clothing collected from a year-end clothing drive among the retreat’s staff and guests.  The Museflower staff also donated personal supplies such as toilet paper, baby powder, detergent, and soap, much needed blankets for the cold weather in the hills, and brand new toys and snacks.

Arriving at the Baan Huai Lu Luang village after a two-hour drive up hilly roads, the Museflower team was greeted with a welcome ceremony of the traditional tribal dance and rice cakes and pouring water onto the guests’ hands.  The team took photos with the village representatives, then visited the nursery school where they donated the toys and snacks to the children and chatted with the teachers. The villagers shared a simple and delicious lunch of local food with the visitors.  It was fun day of warmth, sharing and connecting with the local community.
