Chiang Rai Authorities Seize 800,000 Meth Tablets

CHIANG RAI – Police in Chiang Rai have arrested 2 men and seized more than 800,000 methamphetamine pills on Wednesday.

Soldiers from the Pha Muang task force on Wednesday morning stopped a pickup truck with a tarp covering the back area of the truck at a road checkpoint in tambon Nong Pakor in Doi Luang district.

When they pulled back the tarp they found over 800,000 methamphetamine pills inside six fertilizer sacks.

The driver, Thanadol Jaimasit, 33, of Lamphun, was detained and handed over to Doi Luang police station for legal action.

In Muang district, a teenager was apprehended and 98,000 speed pills seized, police arrested the 18-year-old suspect (name withheld) near Wat Takhian.
