Bodyslam’s Toon Say He Hopes to Finish Charity Run in Mae Sai Chiang Rai on Christmas Day

LAMPANG – The Bodyslam lead singer Atiwara Kongmalai aka Toon told media he expects to end his charity fundraiser in Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai on Dec 25. He has about 330km to go to complete his 2,191km run from Betong district in Yala.
The Singer turned national hero Atiwara Kongmalai aka Toon has passed the 1,800 kilometer mark in his “Step by Step” charity run to raise funds for 11 public hospitals across the nation, making considerable progress in the province of Lampang.

Toon has continued to enjoy strong support from the public on his run from the nation’s southern tip to its northern region. Today in Lampang province, Governor Songtham Sawastham led residents in cheering Toon on, presenting him with the gift of a shirt displaying the province’s logo.

Toon entered Lampang from the province of Tak yesterday and has made good time, despite the mountainous conditions of the north. His team has however had to modify its daily target to compensate for the more strenuous terrain.
Donations for the 11 public hospitals he is supporting now exceed 866 million baht, according to the Kao Kon Lakao (everyone takes a step) website.
