3.9 Earthquake Tremor Shakes Mae Sai District

CHIANG RAI – Meteorological Department’s Seismological Bureau reported an earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale hit Shan state in Myanmar on Tuesday, reverberating throughout Chiang Rai.
The Seismological Bureau reported that the epicenter was 10 kilometers underground in the Myanmar town of Monghpyah, about 38 kilometers north of Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district, striking at 8.29pm.
Mae Sai residents felt the temblor, the Seismological Bureau reported.
