12 Boys and their Coach Make Merit for Navy Seal Diver Killed in Tham Luang Cave

CHIANG RAI – The 12 boys of the Mu Pa Academy and their soccer coach, made merit on Sunday for the late Lieutenant Commander Saman Gunan who died during the operation to bring them out of flooded Tham Luang cave in July.

At Wat Phrathat Doi Wao in Chiang Rai, a ceremony was held for Lieutenant Commander Saman, a former Thai Navy SEAL officer, who passed away on 5th July this year while delivering oxygen tanks in the flooded cave. Mrs.Waliphon Gunan, Lieutenant Commander Saman’s wife, also took part in the merit making ceremony.

Meanwhile, the young footballers and their coach have been invited to participate in the opening ceremony of the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games scheduled for 6th – 18th October in Buenos Aires. They are due to travel to Argentina on 3rd October.
