The all-New Ford Fiesta Continues to Build Momentum

The all-new Ford Fiesta continued to build momentum as the class-leading offering for small cars in Thailand by recording its best monthly retail sales since its launch – and grabbing an impressive 17.3 percent of market share in its highly-competitive segment.

Fiesta’s exceptional month helped drive Ford Thailand to its best-ever May performance with overall sales that soared a remarkable 327 percent year-over-year to 2,517 units. This represents a 4.5 percent share of the overall industry, Ford’s highest since August 2004.

Continuing a steady upward climb in sales this year, the award-winning Fiesta topped its previous monthly performance for the fifth consecutive time in May – and an all-time monthly high of 1,749 units.

“Fiesta continuous to prove its competitive leadership among small cars with an increasing number of Thai consumers who are attracted to its sporty design, superior fuel efficiency and smart technologies,” said Saroj Kiatfuengfoo, Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford Thailand.

Ford’s strong monthly performance was also driven by year-over-year sales gains across its entire lineup of Ford vehicles, including the best monthly performance this year for Ford Focus. Driven by the ongoing success of its Ghia+ and Sport+ models, Ford Focus sales rose more than 93 percent to 267 units.

“Strong sales across our entire Ford product lineup are continuing to push our overall performance this year, with the popular Fiesta leading the way. The successful transformation of our business will continue under our One Ford plan with the launch of the All-New Ford Ranger later this year — the first of eight all-new global One Ford vehicles to be introduced in Thailand over the next five years,” added Saroj.
