BANGKOK – Tourist Police Maj Gen Surachet Hakpal – deputy commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau – said yesterday that an arrest warrant has been issued for a Thai woman for creating fake news on Facebook.

Thai authorities are seeking the arrest of Ms. Wattana Ebbage, 56 for running a Facebook page critical of the Junta out of London England.

Maj Gen Surachet said authorities have asked Interpol and authorities in the UK to arrest Ms.Ebbage, 56 in London for drawing connections between the Thai prime minister, his foremost deputy and airships and satellites on the Facebook page called “KonthaiUK.

The page features pictures of an airship and satellites interspersed with images of Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan and Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha.

It suggested that the airship was purchased so it could be repaired. And claimed that billions had been spent on satellites that was part of a corrupt scheme.

Thailand’s Daily News has reported that 7 people have alread been arrested for just sharing the story.

In an interview earlier in the week on Daily News and translated by Thaivisa suggested that Maj Gen Surachet has a close relationship with Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan. He also said that others that were arrested in another fake news case about fuel price rises would only be warned.

Just last week a Cambodian man was apprehanded for posting information online that said Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha had allegedly told the Thai public to fill up with water if they didn’t like price hikes, was arrested and faces jail.
