(CTN News) – A new feature for desktop users is being developed by Meta-owned WhatsApp. Every time a user launches the programme, a password-protected feature known as Screen Lock will be requested.

When a user isn’t using a device running WhatsApp, it will add an extra layer of protection and prevent unwanted access.

The feature is presently being developed, according to WaBetaInfo, a website that tracks new and planned WhatsApp features. It is anticipated that it will eventually be available to certain beta testers.

WhatsApp may also include a feature that allows users to lock the app using Touch ID on a Mac when a fingerprint sensor is present, according to a WaBetaInfo report.
