ChatGPT Suffers Outages Worldwide, OpenAI Confirms

(CTN News) – The famous AI chatbot ChatGPT, which lets you talk to various people and topics, has connectivity issues.

Many OpenAI users are experiencing issues worldwide, with many unable to access the AI.

There’s been an outage for the last 45 minutes. ChatGPT is currently down in the U.S., Europe, India, Japan, Australia, and other parts of the world, according to DownDetector.

More than 1,000 users have reported outages with the site and API service, according to Downdetector and Downhound.

OpenAI’s status page confirms an outage, stating that multiple engines are experiencing high error rates. There’s also a problem with Whisper and turbo engines.

Other users say they’re getting error codes saying, “The previous model used in this conversation is unavailable.”. You’ve been switched to the latest default model.”

OpeanAI says it’s working on a fix for the issue:

UPDATE: 5/24/2023 4:34 PM EST: The company’s status page says error reports are going down, but they’re still investigating the outage. We’re seeing chatbot rates recover. “We’re still looking into it.”
