Kylian Mbappe

According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are prepared to make star forward Kylian Mbappe the world’s highest-paid player to prevent him from possibly moving to Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with the Santiago Bernabeu after failing to sign a contract extension at the Parc des Princes, which expires in the summer.

Kylian Mbappe’s salary: PSG could offer a massive new deal

With Kylian Mbappe tearing it up for PSG in both Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League this season, the French club is reportedly keen to offer him a more lucrative contract as they see the 23-year old as one of the best in the world in the next decade.

The Independent reports that Paris Saint-Germain is planning to pay Mbappe a salary of over £500,000 (over Rs 1.5 crore) and closer to £1 million, which no one in the sport has received before. An exorbitant salary would prevent Real Madrid from making a similar deal.

Kylian Mbappe’s stats at PSG

Considering his outstanding form for PSG in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, Kylian Mbappe is likely to find a number of suitors. Frenchman Alain Martial’s goal at Parc des Princes decided the UEFA Champions League (UCL) Round of 16 first leg tie against Real Madrid, with the Ligue 1 giants beating their Spanish opponents 1-0.

From seven matches, Mbappe has scored five goals in the UCL. In 22 Ligue 1 games, he has scored 12 goals and made nine assists.

What has Kylian Mbappe said about his future?

“I have not decided my future,” Kylian Mbappe told Movistar after scoring against Real Madrid on Tuesday. “I play for Paris Saint-Germain, one of the best clubs in the world. I give my best and then we’ll see what happens next season.”

As for PSG’s sporting director Leonardo, he told El Larguero, “I don’t believe such an important decision will depend on a match or a tie. He is intelligent, mature, and knows what he wants for his career and his future. I hope he spends the rest of his career with PSG. He is without a doubt one of the best players in the world.”
