According to the 36-year-old, she once again said she had been misunderstood about the post she had written, which she had previously told a Chinese news outlet about.

There was a lot of misunderstanding in the outside world after this post. I don’t want the meaning of the post to be misconstrued anymore. And I don’t want any further media hype around it. Sexual assault? I never said anyone sexually assaulted me.”

During the interview, Peng Shuai stated that she deleted the post “because I wanted to” and also refuted rumors that she had disappeared. “I never disappeared,” she said. I had so many messages from people like my friends and people from the IOC that I was unable to respond to them all. However, I have always maintained close contact with my closest friends.”
