Lions vs. Commanders

(CTN News) – Lions vs. Commanders: On Sunday at Ford Field, the Detroit Lions will be able to utilize one of their most explosive offensive weapons against the Washington Commanders.

Lions vs. Commanders: Inactive

Despite suffering an ankle injury last week, running back D’Andre Swift is active after being questionable. Despite missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, Swift returned Friday as a limited participant and will participate today.

As well as rushing for 144 yards and a touchdown, Swift caught three passes for 31 yards for the 15th consecutive week. Among Week 1 NFL running backs, he accumulated 144 rushing yards.

Lions vs. Commanders; The Lions have a real question today regarding Swift’s ability to run behind an offensive line that is missing all three starters along the interior.

Jonah Jackson and Frank Ragnow are both listed as inactive (groin, foot). On Saturday, Jackson was downgraded from questionable to doubtful after being injured in practice on Wednesday.

Due to a back injury,  Lions vs. Commanders the Lions lost starting right guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai before the season began.

The starting guard will be Logan Stenberg and the center will be Evan Brown. At the other guard position, the Lions have Drew Forbes, Kayode Awosika, and Dan Skipper. Skipper was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad on Saturday.

A back injury sustained in practice Thursday has left Lions cornerback Amani Oruwariye questionable for Sunday’s game. Detroit’s defense is facing a Washington offense that scored four touchdowns and ran for more than 25 yards last week in a win over Jacksonville.

Inactive for the second straight week is safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (hamstring). As of this week, he was back in practice in a limited manner, so he’s trending in the right direction, but he’s not quite ready to play yet.

After being hampered by a hamstring injury for more than a month, the Lions get back linebacker Julian Okwara. Last week, he was inactive. Detroit gains an extra rusher to get after Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz with his return.

Demetrius Taylor, James Mitchell, and Austin Bryant join Jackson, Ragnow, Oruwariye, and Melifonwu on Detroit’s inactive list today.
