Super Bowl LVI

The Los Angeles Rams are favorites to beat the Cincinnati Bengals when the teams collide in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday, but few things are ever certain in the NFL’s showpiece event.

Sean McVay’s team are back in the championship game for the second time in four seasons and are clear favorites for the crown, helped on by the fact the game will be paid at SoFi Stadium.

It will be just the second year that a Super Bowl team has played the finale at their home venue, and titleholders the Tampa Bay Buccaneers succeeded as the first when they hosted last year.

Cincinnati is underdogs to pull off a major upset in Inglewood, but star quarterback Joe Burrow comes equipped with enough weapons to sow the seeds of doubt.

That same doubt opens up the potential for more profitable prop bets in the Super Bowl, and Chiang Rai Times takes a peek at which bets are worth backing and free bets offer up for grabs.

Two-point conversion attempt made (+100)

It’s been three Super Bowls since we last saw a two-point attempt in the Super Bowl, so it feels like we’re about due for a team to take a chance in the showpiece event.

It’s especially out of character considering NFL teams are in fact attempting two-point conversions with greater frequency.

To compare, there were 154 two-point conversions made during the 2021 regular season, 131 in 2020 and only 113 in the season prior to that.

Eight of the nine Super Bowls prior to the current drought featured a two-point attempt, not to mention the added drama of the fixture makes it that much more plausible that we’ll see one on Sunday.

It’s worth noting that the +100 prop relates simply to a two-point conversion being attempted—it doesn’t necessarily need to be successful.

Matthew Stafford to score anytime TD (+600)

Matthew Stafford’s move to Los Angeles has already paid off in his first season with the Rams, playing more post-season games this year (four) than he did in 12 seasons with the Detroit Lions (three).

That being said, the 34-year-old is hardly known for his prowess running the ball, so it’s understandable he’s at inflated +600 odds to score a touchdown anytime.

Despite his reputation as a passer and little else, Stafford has broken the trend to sneak in for two touchdowns during this year’s playoffs alone, begging the question as to whether just one more awaits.

The veteran will be among the most motivated to end his Super Bowl search at SoFi, and Stafford has shown he’s in the mood to dish out damage:

Aaron Donald to be named Super Bowl MVP (+1200)

It’s commonplace for the Super Bowl MVP to be an offensive player, but then not every Super Bowl is fortunate enough to have eight-time Pro Bowler Aaron Donald present.

The Rams talisman is the lowest-priced defensive player to win the award at +1200, and a leaky Bengals offensive line could be the perfect prey for him to work his magic on Sunday:

A three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Donald will have to beat the likes of Stafford, Burrow and mercurial Rams receiver Cooper Kupp if he’s to snag the MVP prize.
