(CTN NEWS) – FIFA World Cup 2022 – Brazil has advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Cup with Neymar looking fit and scoring a goal.
Brazil’s 4-1 round-of-16 win over South Korea was highlighted by a penalty converted by Neymar in the first half.
With 76 goals for the national team, he is one goal shy of Pelé’s record, which he will watch from his hospital bed in Sao Paulo.

Neymar said, “I was very scared.”. “After getting injured as I did, it was very difficult. I cried all night long. My family knows what I went through. It all worked out in the end. Physiotherapy was worth the effort.”
As Pelé recovers from a respiratory infection aggravated by COVID-19, fans in Brazil and Qatar are concerned about his health.
After the match, Neymar carried a banner with Pelé’s image and “Pelé” written on it, and the entire team posed in front of it.
After such an impressive performance, the Brazil players pause their carnival-like post-match celebrations for a touching tribute to legendary striker Pele.
“It’s difficult to talk about Pelé with what he’s going through,” Neymar said. “We wish him a speedy recovery. We hope to make him feel more comfortable with the banner and the victory.”
This was South Korea’s first attempt to advance past the round of 16 since 2002 when it reached the semifinals as a co-host.
