Chaingrai United 4-2 Nakhon Ratchasima

CHIANG RAI– Rungrath Poomchantuek, 22 year-old midfielder with Chiang Rai United, launched an all-round performance which secured Chiangrai United another big win that took them up to 13th.

“Swat Cat” Nakhon Ratchasima managed to break the scoreline first from a counter attack. The ball landed to German striker Bjorn Lindemann who controlled it before firing a 25-yard screamer into the back of the net. But 10 minutes later, Rungrath Poomchantuek levelled for the home sides by seizing an opportunity from the goalkeeper’s mistake and scored a goal.

Then, on the 41st minute, the on-form midfielder Rungrath provided a superb assist that found Brazilian forward Renan Marques who marvellously performed a half volley strike which saw their team go up front.

On the 61st minute, Chiangrai United widened their scoreline to 3-1 from a stunning double, possibly this week’s best goal, by Renan Marques’s astonishing 60-yard chip shot which caught the keeper out.

Then, three minutes later, the home team went ahead for their fourth as Thai defender Kiatprawut Saiwaeo tapped the ball in from captain Pichitphong Choeichiu’s byline pass. But just 8 minutes before the whistle was blown, Swat Cat snatched their second goal from British striker Lee Tuck who went down in the box and got his team a penalty.

It was the same man that stood up to score with cool gesture.
