Whakatāne Lotto ticket wins $12 million in Powerball first division
The Powerball first division ticket bought in Whakat*ne won $12.25 million.
Halfway Store in Whakat*ne, in the eastern Bay of Plenty, sold the winning ticket.
Powerball First Division paid $12m and Lotto First Division paid $250,000 for the prize.
The winner of Wednesday’s drawing is the ninth Powerball multimillionaire of 2022, and he won $6.3 million just three weeks after a lucky Aucklander won the Powerball First Division.

He is looking forward to buying a house in order to help his family and buy a home.
An Auckland ticket won $28.1 million on March 26, making it the largest Powerball win this year.
The first division Lotto also brought home $250,000 to three other winners tonight.
Players from Taup* and Southland purchased the winning tickets at Kelston Digital Photos in Auckland and on MyLotto.
The second division of the lottery paid out $12,933 to 18 players.
An additional player won $28,133 in the Powerball second division. Devonport New World in Auckland sold the winning Powerball second division ticket.

In addition to Whangarei and Whitianga, winners were announced in Rotorua, Tokoroa, Napier, Manawatu – Whanganui, Masterton, Lower Hutt, Hokitika, Christchurch, and Darfield.
On Saturday night, Strike will be $500,000 instead of $500,000.
Tickets purchased from any of the above stores should be checked in-store, online, or through the Lotto NZ app as soon as possible.
