The Game Awards 2022: Nominees Announced

(CTN NEWS) – The Game Awards 2022 have finally revealed their full list of nominees for Game of the Year and other categories. The jury will vote in each category in the lead-up to The Game Awards on December 8.

In 2022, six games are nominated for Game of the Year, including A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok are the two highest-rated new video game releases of the year, so they are the two most likely candidates for Game of the Year.

Elden Ring’s overall rating is 95 at the time of this writing, while Ragnarok’s is 94.

Elden Ring has a higher rating overall than God of War Ragnarok, but Ragnarok has received more awards this year, so perhaps that will give it the edge.

This year’s Game Awards event has nominated God of War Ragnarok for 10 awards, while Elden Ring has been nominated for 7. There are also seven awards up for Horizon Forbidden West, so it could cause an upset.

Voting is now available on the official website and through the official Game Awards Voting Bot on Discord. The voting will end on December 7 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time / 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time ET. 

The Game Awards 2022 will air live on December 8 across more than 40 global video platforms.
